Hey, y'all! Thanks for checking in. Before I get into what's coming up next, I want to formally begin encouraging all of you to give ART for the holidays. I'm not just saying give MY art for the holidays, either...I'm saying give ANY art for the holidays. I'll be honest, until I started painting full time, giving art as gifts wasn't on my radar, either. ::cringe:: But what better gift for someone special than an ORIGINAL piece of art? A gift that was actually MADE by someone and is one of a kind? Seriously, it's made me rethink a lot of the throw-away holiday crap I buy people...stocking stuffers and $1 items that add up to a lot of money, and a lot of, well...crap. So check out your local art and handmade gift fairs...and do something different this year! Plus, your area art community is super important. Need suggestions? I know rad artists in all price ranges! Email me! amymclainart@gmail.com Also check out my STORE page. There are only a few pieces listed currently, but I'll be fully stocking it for cyber Monday (the Monday after Black Friday)! Free shipping and affordable prices on tap. ($50-$100) So what's next? These two pieces will be available at Siren Nation's Paths To The Pacific NW group show. Again, I'm honored to be included with these other wonderful women artists. Quite a lineup! Opening: Thursday 11/5/15, 6p-8p Location: Albina Press 5012 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, Oregon 97215 Then it's the Annual Big 500 show at Peoples Art of Portland! 12/12! Whoa. And if you've ever been to one of these, you know what I mean. More details soon. Here is the first (in progress) of 15 pieces (also in progress) that I'll have in this show. Contact me if you want! amymclainart@gmail.com
It's finally here! This is the first time I've stepped into the world of the art fair! I'm nervous and excited. And I'm either under prepared or over prepared. Either way, I'm doing it, so there's that! Here are the details: There are 60+ juried artists participating. The work I have seen has been not only high quality, but eclectic...something for every taste! (Check it out for yourself on the Affordable Art For Everyone Facebook Page.) The cool part for art lovers: Nearly everything at the event is under $100...even if it typically sells for more. (Each artist can have 3 showcase pieces priced above $100.) This is the coolest part to ME.: Mass-produced items (reproductions, etc) are discouraged for this, so the VAST majority (almost all) of the art in the building is original...ONE of a kind! ::swoon:: The holiday season is upon us (stop denying it!)...so get a jump on the madness and give art this season! Who does that, you say? Well, people who give awesome gifts do that! You could be done with your shopping TODAY. Go to the Affordable Art For Everyone page for more details. Here are 12 of the 50+ pieces I'll have at the show:Send me an email if you'd like! amymclainart@gmail.com
