Sunriver and Comfort In Mediocrity (Loosely)

7/14/2014

The blog is now 14 days old!  Off to a pretty fair start!  Thank you for all the love.

...and we're off to Sunriver!   I've never been.  Neither has the dog!  I'll take some pictures because it's supposed to be amazing.

For today's entry to be up to my standards, it would need to wait until after the trip. And that's a slippery slope!  The dreams of perfection would creep into my vacation. I would know I had whiffed it by doing nothing.   Well, not anymore!

In staying on track with my goals, I'm 'starting before I'm ready'.  It's a common theme in stories of success--and I'm finding it to be true so far.  If you're interested in the topic, check it out on google!

And here we go.  I'll do a tutorial or something a little beefier next time.   How about layered backgrounds with the use of stencils, like the one I started below?  I did it today.  It's easy!

The smaller paintings got off the ground today as well.  Slightly off the ground...but a pretty productive day of art overall! Once complete, they'll go in my Etsy shop--closer to the holidays.   (The Etsy shop I'm going to start soon!)

Now it looks like this (for the moment!)

Here's how it happened:
I'm not worried about where this is headed.   I just trust it!
I like to experiment freely with it between coats on other paintings. I made a few fun moves today, though!
Stay tuned!
(We won't be discussing picture quality today.  Yikes.)

Thanks for stopping by!

Is there anything you would like to see here?   Any roadblocks you might be having in your own art?   Do you have a suggestion for how to make this blog better?  Leave a comment or email me directly!    I'll sure see what I can do!

It's great! I always love your paintings before you think they're finished :)
