Hey, y'all! Thanks for checking in...lots going on in June. Here are the details on what's up next. Today, I'm working on my eight 8" x 8" panels for the 88 Strong show: ![]() Here's proof that you don't need a big, fancy studio to make art. This is happening in the corner of a bedroom, and it's a good time! So if 'space' is holding you back, it shouldn't. (I wish I had realized that a decade ago.) THAT being said, I'm super stoked to be subleasing a completely badass art studio downtown over the summer! I'll be interested in seeing what kind of creative growth (if any) occurs during that time. 88 Strong: a group show. Tons of great local artists! I'll have 8 pieces available, $50/each. More details soon. Opens 6/25 at The Goodfoot. Curated by Chris Haberman and Jason Brown That's just what I'm working on today... Fire On The Water is up next on the schedule...which is the dragon boat show I'm telling you about now: Fire On The Water: A Dragon Boat Themed Art Show A group show inspired by the Rose Festival Dragon Boat Races and curated by Alea Bone of Bonewerx. Opening reception: Thursday, 6/4/15, 5-8pm. (Art is on display through 6/30!) Food, drinks, etc. All ages. Where: Portland'5 Center for Performing Arts 1111 SW Broadway The show opens two days before the annual Portland Rose Festival dragon boat RACES! Check out these official links for more info on the art and the show. Facebook - Official Event Page Instagram - See more of the art here! Portland'5 Center for Performing Arts - Venue's event listing Portland Rose Festival - We are a sanctioned event! I've seen some of the pieces in person...and they are crazy good! In person is by far the best way to see it all...so come out if you can. There will be something for everyone's taste....funky, fierce, literal, abstract...! This little ditty here is my contribution to the show: A note about the title of this painting: "The Victor" In dragon boating, the dragon boat with the flag is the winner of the race! This painting was the first deadline I had after the sudden passing of my beloved Uncle Vic just a few weeks ago. I called him "The Vic" because he was that kind of guy. While my love for Vic had zero to do with dragon boats...he was certainly a winner! A big time one. So the TITLE of this one is for him. RIP, please.
